Humanities Montana is a five-time recipient of the Federation of State Humanities Councils' Helen and Martin Schwartz Prize for Excellence in Public Programming, given annually since 1983 to the nation's top public humanities program. Humanities Montana has won the Schwartz Prize for "Logon '83" (1984), "Montana This Morning" (1994), "Bozeman Trail Heritage Conference" (2000), "Confluence of Cultures" (2004), and "Public Affairs Initiative" (2009).
In 2005, Humanities Montana and its Montana Center for the Book were honored by the Library of Congress with its annual Daniel J. Boorstin Award for excellence and innovation in reading and literary promotion.
In 2008, Humanities Montana was honored as a "Special Friend to Libraries," an annual award given by the Montana Library Association.
And, last, and least, our Montana Festival of the Book was declared one of the "1,000 Places to See in the USA and Canada Before You Die." |
