SUPPORT THE PUBLIC AFFAIRS INITIATIVE

GIVE NOW"Congratulations to Humanities Montana on...their terrific programs that are providing opportunities for folks across the state to get involved in discussions about local, state and national issues."

- U.S. Senator Max Baucus

Humanities Montana encourages Montanans to examine the public issues before them, bringing the humanities to bear upon public affairs. Humanities programs enable us to understand the history and values underlying all public affairs, and they encourage us to work together to build trust and to strengthen our civic discourse.

Rarely in our history have Montanans been more divided over basic issues and priorities than they are now. Rarely have they faced a future so complex and rapidly changing. And rarely has the need for informed and engaged citizens been greater.

In view of these circumstances, Humanities Montana has decided to emphasize public affairs throughout all its programs. We have undertaken a new grant initiative, inviting proposals for projects of all sorts (conferences, workshops, lectures, media, etc.) that examine public issues and bring the humanities to bear upon them.

We also offer new Speakers Bureau and OpenBook programs that similarly focus on public affairs in Montana and beyond.
