For 15 years Humanities Montana organized the Festival of the Book—a major celebration of literature held each fall in Missoula and one of the biggest annual cultural events in the Northwest.

In 2015, The Humanities Montana Festival of the Book has been reestablished as the Montana Book Festival under the auspices of the Montana Book Festival Association, in conjunction with the Missoula Cultural Council. For more information about this year’s festival, visit montanabookfestival.org.

The Montana Book Festival is scheduled to take place September 10-12, 2015 in Missoula.

Directors of the Montana Book Festival Association include Barbara Theroux of Fact & Fiction; Garth Whitson of Shakespeare & Co.; Honore Bray, director of the Missoula Public Library; and John Rimel, owner of Mountain Press Publishing. Serving as fiscal sponsor is the Missoula Cultural Council.

The organizers are accepting submissions for readings, panels and workshops, as well as looking for donations of money and volunteer time.

To donate, send checks to Missoula Cultural Council, PO Box 7662, Missoula, MT 59807. Please write “Montana Book Festival” in the memo line.

To volunteer, email montanabookfestival@gmail.com.
