Gustafson explores the relationships between contemporary society and our domestic animals, primarily focusing on the human/dog relationship, but including horses, livestock, and cats. A conversation regarding the appropriate training and socialization of dogs to promote willing partnerships with people follows a presentation regarding the nature of dogs and other domestic species. Understanding the nature of dogs helps folks fulfill their companion's needs, and facilitates happy, healthy relationships that benefit society in a variety of ways.
