Title: Horses in Contemporary Culture: The Human/Horse Bond Through Time

This interactive program explores how our contemporary relationship with the horse has evolved. Horse cultures in the Intermountain West and elsewhere is displayed with visual media, including a special emphasis on the emergence of Native American horsemanship in Montana. Ideas and concepts regarding our responsibilities to the horse, and current trends in horsemanship and horse stabling pertaining to the well-being and welfare of the horse are presented. Gustafson emphasizes the principles of appropriate horse care, outlining contemporary trends in regard to providing the right environmental, nutritional, and behavioral needs of horses.
