Title: Cosmopolitan Butte — LIVING HISTORY
Presenter: Tom Satterly, storyteller and department manager, Environmental Sciences Department, University of Montana Western
Contact: (406) 683-4081,

Come to Butte—down in the mines, around to the many ethnic neighborhoods, into the saloons and eateries, uptown to the union halls, and to the fabled "fifth floor" of the Hennessey Building (where the course of Montana politics was set). Meet a century of eccentric Butte characters, mourn the victims of mining disasters, or take your chances on the cowboy swings in the fabulous Columbia Gardens. Tom Satterly's in-costume presentations are tailored to emphasize any combination of these aspects to meet the interests of individual audiences. Satterly is a descendant of early Butte families, and his flexibility as a speaker is the product of a lifetime of fascination with Butte and over a decade of experience on the Speakers Bureau.
