SUMMARY:Helena Living History Day Featuring the Plains Indian Camp
DESCRIPTION:Spend a day learning and doing! The Helena Living History Day showcases over 20 skilled educators and artisans demonstrating their talents in historical frontier skills including Blacksmithing, Flint Knapping, Pioneer Textiles (Weaving, Spinning, and Quilting), Gold Panning, Leather Working, Mining/Assay, Stone Cooking, and Western Weaponry. Of special interest is the Plains Indian Camp exhibit where you experience an immersive visit to the historically accurate portrayal of an 1800s Native American camp, supported by grant funding from Humanities Montana. You may also attend the lectures provided by TeeJay Hemsworth, this year’s special speaker.\nThe event is free and welcomes everyone. There are kid-friendly, hands-on activities as well as one-on-one instruction for adults.\n
