Native Americans in Montana face many issues that are relevant to non-Natives and Natives alike. From topics like missing and murdered indigenous women and restoration of native languages to creating change through the arts, Adrian Jawort and Russell Rowland work with leaders, activists, and community members to have conversations about these important topics. They help audiences share stories of racial conflict and healing, think about our state’s scarred past, and recognize people who are doing productivethings to help Natives and non-Natives develop a stronger working relationship to help everyone move forward.
Russell Rowland is a writer, radio host on NPR and host of a podcast on literary topics. He is an active mentor for beginning writers, teaching writing workshops. Adrian Jawort is an author, freelance journalist, and founder of Off the Pass Press, publishing literary works by indigenous writers. Jawort is Northern Cheyenne.
