The Autumn Walkabout: Mining Coal, Mining Creativity

Experience the history of a Montana community at Red Lodge’s Autumn Walkabout.

Beginning at 10 am in downtown Red Lodge, visitors can take advantage of programs like Arts Guild demonstrations, and tours of Sam’s Tap Room Brewery. Participants will also have the opportunity to feel connected to the town’s past, with tours of 100 year old building and rides in horse-drawn carriages and historic Yellowstone buses, as well as take part in a scavenger hunt that highlights local businesses and the history of Red Lodge.

In the evening at the Roosevelt Center, the Red Lodge Theater Company will perform “Mining Coal: Mining Creativity,” a play that details the past and present stories of Red Lodge.

This community festival is the culminating event of the Hometown Humanities program from Humanities Montana, and celebrates the legacy, diversity, and creativity of a historic Montana town.

The event is finished.
