Our Speakers in the Schools program was created in 2011 to address Montana’s vast size and widespread population, which make it difficult for educators in remote, rural schools to provide enriching humanities opportunities. As a former Montana educator, I know that often it is not feasible to transport students several hours to the nearest museum, government building, or historical site. Paying for high-quality presenters is equally cost-prohibitive.

Our Speakers in the Schools experts provide outstanding humanities programming on wide ranging topics such as American Indian culture, journalism and information literacy, and Montana women’s history. The challenges of this year offer us the opportunity to create a lasting and meaningful difference. Your continued support is essential to bring engaging experts and quality humanities programs to Montana’s classrooms free of charge, to any educator in the state. Please join us in giving the gift of the humanities to the next generation.

May you and your loved ones share a warm and wonderful holiday season!

With gratitude,

Randi Lynn Tanglen, Ph.D.
Executive Director
