Humanities Montana celebrates National Library week by thanking Montana libraries for being amazing collaborators and partners across the state. From the Montana State Library in Helena to rural libraries, tribal and community college libraries, and high school libraries, Humanities Montana delivers core programs to constituents in these community spaces. From Wibaux, to Whitehall, from Darby to Drummond to Pryor and Poplar libraries are, as former James E Shanley Tribal College library director Lori Smoker stated, “the heartbeat of the community.” Thank you, librarians!
National Library Week 2026 theme is “Find Your Joy,” celebrated from April 19–25, 2026. As part of the American Library Association‘s 150th anniversary, this theme highlights libraries as “third spaces” for discovery and connection, featuring librarian and “Reading Rainbow” host Mychal Threets as the honorary chair.
