Humanities Montana will collaborate with the Montana Arts Council and our state folklorist to participate in By the People: Conversations Beyond 250, a national initiative supported by the Smithsonian Institution and the Federation of State Humanities Councils.
This grant support will bolster humanities programming at the Montana Folk Festival in July. The festival’s programming centers on community interaction and the dynamic celebration of diverse Montanans throughout the state. Planned programming includes creating space for oral histories/storytelling, workshops, and panel discussions in the Folklife Area. Funding will go towards supporting artists honoraria and travel as well as documentation of performances and workshops.
