Teens in Billings Explore Hydroponic Gardening
In Billings, Democracy Project teens have been germinating different varieties of leafy greens like lettuce seeds and learning about hydroponic gardening using Italian herbs. They are really excited to watch the seeds grow in multiple spots throughout the library including the Maker Space and the reference desk. The culminating event, a ribbon cutting, was held on Earth Day, April 22.
Teens also attended a Civic Learning Event at City Council. An organization called Neighborhood Forest provided 430 free trees to children at the Billings Public Library!
