Over 21 book clubs have met so far with more forming every day. Five book club kits are in circulation and over 700 audiobook listens have been downloaded. Across Montana readers are coming together to answer the question, “What if everyone in Montana read the same book?” The goals of One Book Montana are to promote literature and literacy of Montana, foster community conversations, and inspire learning, curiosity, connection, and enjoyment. Partnerships are forming to welcome in more readers, for example between the Livingston-Park County Public Library and the Elk River Arts Center in Livingston, Montana.
Here are some comments from the One Book Montana book club in Red Lodge, Montana:
Chris’s honest vulnerability and humorous storytelling creates an entry point for all of us to deepen our connection with Montana history and identity while growing a shared responsibility to restore pride and safety to both. Forever grateful to our local library and Humanities Montana for this incredibly meaningful event.”
