Montana 1889: September Discussion

The Revisiting Montana 1889 Facebook Group will spend September discussing one of the most diverse cast of characters yet: The Indian agent at Fort Peck, Rose Gordon from White Sulphur Springs, Blackfeet leader Mad Wolf and George Bird Grinnell, Great Northern Railway founder James J. Hill, and the inimitable Fritz Heinze of Butte.

The Montana Historical Society hosts this lively monthly conversation based on Humanities Montana Executive Director Ken Egan’s book Montana 1889: Indians, Cowboys, and Miners in the Year of Statehood. Get a copy and join the conversation! Royalties from books sales support the programs and grants of Humanities Montana.
